WLA Mission Statement


The mission of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis is to:

  • Promote and assist women to obtain positions of influence and leadership within their workplace, the legal profession, the judiciary, and the community;
  • Raise awareness of and fight biases against women within the community at large, the legal profession, and under the law;
  • Promote and effect diversity, equality, and justice under the law and within the legal system;
  • Support women lawyers in their personal and professional lives;
  • Provide opportunities for volunteerism and advocacy on issues affecting women; and
  • Collaborate with other individuals and organizations to improve the status of women.

International Women's Day Webinar | Monday, March 8th | 7:00 PM

In recognition of International Women's Day, WLA is pleased to sponsor the Women's Foundation of Greater St. Louis and its upcoming webinar, Food or Period Hygiene: It doesn't have to be a choice!  

In 2019, the Women’s Foundation hosted a Seeking Solutions Symposium on the struggle many women in the St. Louis region face affording period products, also known as Period Poverty.  Now, join the talk about the policy solutions!  Log in on Monday, March 8, 2021, International Women’s Day, at 7 PM to discuss the Missouri state proposed legislation that aims to reduce this barrier facing women and families.  Our panel includes the following policy makers and experts:

State Representative Ingrid Burnett, and
Director of Outreach and Community Engagement, Charlin Hughes, St. Louis Area Diaper Bank/St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies

WLA Free CLE | View From the Inside: Corporate Counsel Perspectives | Wednesday, March 31st | Noon - 1:00 PM

Join us for a complimentary CLE featuring four seasoned in-house women attorneys as they discuss their backgrounds, paths to success, and provide tips on how to navigate life as an in-house lawyer.  Panelists will also discuss their perspectives on how to better interact with and utilize outside counsel relationships.  There will be opportunity to submit questions in advance.  CLE credit is pending in Missouri.
