The WLA Student Liaison position was implemented to engage women law students in WLA Foundation's Linda J. Murphy Scholarship Program, find out what is important to women law students, and recruit new members.  The WLA Student Liaison position started in 2009 at St. Louis University and has expanded to Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, University of Missouri – Columbia, University of Missouri – Kansas City, and Washington University in St. Louis.  The primary responsibility of the WLA Student Liaisons will be disseminating information from the WLA and its Board of Directors to the women law student affinity group at their law school and other student organizations.  The WLA Student Liaisons will also be called upon throughout their year to gather volunteers to assist in the execution of WLA events and communicate the perceived or voiced concerns of women law students.  WLA Student Liaisons are expected to remain financial and active members of their women law student affinity group throughout law school and WLA when they become lawyers.  Finally, the WLA Student Liaisons may be asked to provide periodic reports regarding what their women law student affinity group is engaged with and interested in generally, and, specifically, how their women law student affinity group has engaged with WLA.
